FUNDACIÓN RIOJA TRAVELLED TO VILLA UNIÓN

To continue with our trips to the domestical areas of the province, FUNDACIÓN RIOJA travelled October 9 2015 to the city Villa Unión where they offered medical and surgical pediatric care in the local hospital ¨E. Neira¨. The organization also talked with local authorities and professionals from the hospital to work together on the development of projects about congenital malformation and malnutrition in the healthcare and educational systems.

FUNDACIÓN RIOJA was welcomed by director Dr. Leyla Ormeño and several professionals from different areas of the hospital. Dr. Aníbal Ojeda, Lic. Miguel Vargas, Lic. Romina Flores, Dra. Natalia López and Ms. Cecili Rivero Duin respresented FUNDACIÓN RIOJA. This multidisciplinary group consistent of a child surgeon, a social worker, a nutritionist, a dentist and a medicine student.

This trip was scheduled to coordinate and emphazise the long distance communication that FUNDACIÓN RIOJA already has with Villa Unión. We talked about pediatric surgery programs and about integrating the program of FUNDACIÓN RIOJA about detection of malformations and atention for malnutrition of children.
